Bring Your Veteran’s Story To Life

Over 16 million Americans served in WWII, each with their own unique story filled with courage, sacrifice, drama, heroism, humor, and love. The mission of Footsteps Research is to bring your loved one’s story to life using professional research, historical records, and archival photos. The finished product is the priceless storytelling of your loved-one’s WWII experience that can be shared with family and friends both in print and online.

Our customers are children and grandchildren of WWII veterans, looking to research their loved-one’s unique role in the war effort. Our research goes beyond the basics and involves manual searches of the National Archives, newspaper vaults, historical photo libraries, the Veterans History Project, obituaries, and much more.  Customers provide us with their veteran’s name, serial number, and any other information/photos that they possess and our team of researchers goes to work to piece together their story and timeline, all the way down to where the veteran was each day of the war.

How it works:

1. Gather Available Information

In order for us to create the best possible end-product, we ask that you send us as much possible information on your veteran as you can.  This includes photos and/or documents that your veteran brought home from the war.  Scanning each photo and document in advance of requesting a quote will help speed up your project’s completion time.

2. Request a Quote

As a premium research service and to ensure each of our customers receive the best possible end product, we price our services on a case by case basis.  Fill out our GET STARTED form and we will provide you with a quote for your individual project. For initial pricing details, please visit our FAQ page.

3. Interview with our Researcher

An important part of our initial research process involves learning as much as we can from the veteran’s family and/or friends.  Our interviewers prefer talking with you via phone or Skype, and we will ask you for any first-hand knowledge and/or stories that have been passed down to you by your veteran.

4. Receive and Share Your Book!

Our finished product is available to you as both a hard-copy book as well as a digital version that you can share via e-mail and Facebook.   We also archive all of our projects so that you can order more copies later on as gifts for family members or to replace missing or damaged copies.

We look forward to bringing your veteran’s story to life in a storybook for you and your family to treasure forever!
