Assigned to guard the Gatun Dam

McCarthy and his unit are assigned to and arrive at the Gatun Dam in the Panama Canal Zone. Lieutenant Mitchell V. Klepacz assumes command of the 88th CA Battery G and they are officially activated. The Battery has about 175 total men.
