Arriving in San Francisco

The USS Hughes arrives at the U.S. Naval Drydocks at Hunters Point in San Francisco.  The ship will spend the next four months at Hunters Point undergoing the extensive overhaul and repairs it needs to return to a battle-worthy ship.  The Hughes also makes a round trip test run to San Diego in May 1945.
