Hitler Commits Suicide and Germany Surrenders

Adolf Hitler, burrowed away in a refurbished air-raid shelter, consumes a cyanide capsule, then shoots himself with a pistol, on April 30th, 1945, as his “1,000-year” Reich collapses above him.  Germany would officially surrender a week later on May 7th, 1945,
